FAQ
-
Why are tickets required for entry?
The increase in event management and health & safety requirements of Music in the Park has meant the format of previous years events wasn’t sustainable and in order for the event to continue, it needed to change. The Friends of Belle Vue Park is a registered charity (No:1109145) whose purpose is to help improve the park, promote use of the park and put on events for the benefit of the community. The committee are a small group of volunteers who give up their own time to arrange Music in the Park and the other events we do, as well as improve the quality of the park such as painting the railings.
The event has, in recent years, attracted around 2,000 people over the day. We have a duty, when we put on events, to ensure we comply with health & safety requirements to ensure that people can safely enjoy the event.
This is a big event and there are significant costs involved in hosting Music in the Park which include insurance, rental of stage & sound, security team and toilets, and purchasing signs and printing. Sadly, due to budget constraints, the help traditionally provided by the Vale of Glamorgan Council towards event costs has been cut.
The funds raised from ticket sales all go towards the cost of putting on Music in the Park. Any surplus these will be used for other events and activities for the whole community to enjoy.
Thank you for your support and understanding!
